For Iraqi engine importers, agreeing a good unit price is only one part of the purchase. The proposed used goods, approval file and itemised engine list must describe the same shipment. Resolve those points before paying for a batch that cannot follow the intended import route.
Prepare the used-material approval file first
Iraq’s Environment Ministry lists an approval service for used materials, including engines, coordinated with the Trade Ministry and supporting documents. Ministry of Environment service.
Have your licensed importer or agent establish the route for the actual condition, classification and entry point. Obtain the current requirements for certification, treatment and document authentication before promising a loading date. The published service is not automatic approval for every used engine or mixed spare-parts load.
Turn a market name into an orderable specification
In an Arabic discussion, مكينة or محرك may identify an engine without defining the package. Put the original manufacturer code beside the description: include the full suffix, required vehicle version, petrol or diesel, gearbox and accessories. Keep the same code in Arabic and English documents; do not translate or shorten the identifier.
For example, a request for 2TR must be clarified to the actual required version before an offer is accepted. A family name, a vehicle nickname and a photo of another unit are not interchangeable specifications. Mixed versions should have separate quantity and price lines.
Approve the actual offered units
Ask for readable identifiers, overall views, connection points and a list of included or missing parts. Link photos to a unit reference and retain that reference on the accepted list. Record any replacement unit before shipping; approval of one engine does not approve all engines sharing its code.
Agree the actual inspection method. Manual cranking, visible-condition photos, compression measurement and a running video answer different questions. LSVANT’s standard checks are manual cranking and photo records; additional tests require separate agreement and evidence.
| Document or record | What should match |
|---|---|
| Approval and import file | Actual goods condition, importer identity and accepted goods description. |
| Invoice and packing list | Full codes, quantities, engine/gearbox scope and package identifiers. |
| Photos and receiving record | Approved unit reference, visible identifiers and missing-parts agreement. |
Name the Iraqi handover point
If requesting a sea quote via Umm Qasr, specify the discharge and receiving point and ask your forwarder to confirm the current service. For Baghdad or another inland destination, separate port clearance, inland haulage, unloading and empty-container return. A price to a port should not be compared with a warehouse-delivery price.
Prepare a wholesale enquiry
Send your company details, full engine codes and quantities, required accessories, entry point and final Iraqi city. State which approvals your importer has confirmed and which remain open. LSVANT can check available units and prepare the supply scope for remote review or a Guangzhou warehouse appointment.
Questions before ordering
Can warehouse photos replace the approval documents?
No. They support the buying decision; the importer’s approval and customs documents follow their own requirements.
Can I order different versions under one code?
List each version and package separately so pricing, unit approval and receiving remain clear.
