Import Used Engines to Ghana: Documents, Costs and Batch Control

For a Ghanaian used-engine importer, the useful comparison is the cost and saleable scope of the accepted batch—not the lowest advertised engine price. Start with a consistent purchasing list, a customs-document plan and a receiving record for your wholesale stock.

Align documents before the shipment is packed

GRA identifies invoices, packing lists, transport documents and importer identification in its import procedure. GRA — Import procedures.

Ask your clearing agent to review the draft invoice and packing list before finalisation. Confirm the registered importer name, document descriptions and classification for the actual goods. Where an engine and gearbox are sold together, describe the agreed scope clearly. Separately list loose accessories so your receiving team can account for them.

Clarify GSA inspection and G-CAP applicability

GSA includes vehicle spare parts and used goods in its import-inspection information. GSA — Import inspection.

That broad description alone does not establish a single certification route for every used engine. Ask GSA or your agent for written guidance on the proposed classification, condition and China supply route, including whether pre-shipment certification is needed. Do this before freight booking rather than assuming either automatic exemption or a universal G-CAP requirement.

Build a landed-cost worksheet for the actual batch

Choose the named destination port and receiving location before requesting a freight-inclusive comparison.

Keep separate lines for accepted engines, gearboxes, packing, freight, insurance and the destination charges estimated by your agent. Have the agent calculate current taxes against the applicable classification and valuation. Do not use a complete-vehicle duty calculator as an engine quotation. Ask how storage and extra handling would be charged if document clarification delays release.

Make stock receiving traceable

Use the supplier unit reference as the bridge between purchase approval and warehouse receiving.

Your receiving list should show full engine code, quantity, unit photos, agreed accessories and separately packed items. Record substitutions before shipment and review their own evidence. Even several units with the same code can have different condition and included parts. Choose your model mix from customer orders and sales records, not an unsupported list of “Ghana best sellers”.

How LSVANT supports the purchasing process

LSVANT offers remote purchasing and Guangzhou warehouse visits by appointment. New wholesale orders start from 10 engines. Review individual photos and video records before shipment; standard checks are manual cranking and photo records, not compression, bench or startup tests. Any additional testing is agreed for the particular units. Each used engine needs its own confirmation, even when codes match.

When purchasing 1NZ-FE and 2NZ-FE together, keep codes and quantities separate: 1NZ-FE / 2NZ-FE buying comparison.

Prepare a wholesale enquiry

  • Company, importer/wholesaler role and reply contact
  • Full engine code, version suffix and quantity per line; reference ID if selected
  • Vehicle model/year and VIN/chassis if available
  • AT/MT, 2WD/4WD; gearbox code if known
  • Engine only or engine + gearbox; complete engine/long block and accessories required
  • Destination country, named port/receiving place and FOB/CIF scope
  • Required unit photos and inspection evidence; mark unknown details “To confirm”

Send Engine Code + Quantity

We review the purchasing list, available units and quotation scope. Availability is confirmed for the offer; quote validity does not reserve stock.
